C.7: This Weekend... Sound Scene XII at the Hirshhorn
Friends,
This weekend I will be presenting a new collaborative work with Gina Mamone of Queer Appalachia as part of Sound Scene XII at the Hirshhorn Museum in Washington, DC.
Mamone will present a 4-channel audio installation of their work #whichsideareyouon which examines the intersectional fallout of race, class, ability, privilege, sustainability and ecology of Appalachia’s opioid epidemic.
My contribution consists of thousands of gelatin capsules filled with crushed coal, each representing a life lost to opioids in coal country.
If you find yourself in DC this weekend please consider coming to experience the work. It will be on view June 29-30 from 10am - 5pm.

I hope to see some of you there.
Onward…
