Greetings from West Virginia... Over the last year I've created a body of photographs that are processed using the polluted water in the North Fork Blackwater watershed in Tucker County, WV. I shot the images on a number of walks through the riverbeds and printed them using a version of the Van Dyke Brown process which takes acidic water as it's processing agent. As the river is deeply impacted by acid mine drainage due to coal mining it provided the ideal pH range to act as processing chemistry. The prints are unique and contain traces of the same heavy metals and minerals as the river itself.
